What is invisibleBracelet (iB)?
iB is a virtual medical bracelet, meaning it's not actually worn. iB is an online HIPAA-compliant web service that allows members to register vital health information accessible to local Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers during emergencies. Membership is $10 a year.
- iB increases the ability of medics to provide proactive care and save lives.
- iB improves coordination of care for patients transported by ambulance.
- iB allows providers to immediately notify a patient's "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) contacts via text message or email when ambulance transport is necessary.
How invisibleBracelet works
- Go to invisiblebracelet.org and register to become a member.
- Members are mailed an iB membership card with a unique personal identi!cation number (PIN) along with stickers to place on identi!cation cards such as drivers license if legal in your state, insurance cards, employee or student badges and key fobs for key chains or bags.
- Members login to the online HIPAA-compliant iB system using their PIN to register vital health information (i.e., allergies, medications, chronic conditions, insurance), and up to 10 in case of emergency (ICE) contacts.
- Authorized EMS providers may access a patient's information electronically on the scene of an emergency and notify ICE contacts if transport to a hospital is required. Members are encouraged to update their health information and ICE contacts regularly to maximize the bene!t of the service.

iB is a voluntary service that puts the patient in control of the information medics can access. iB exceeds federal and state patient privacy and security laws. We create audit logs every time your data is accessed. That way, we can guarantee a record of when a patient's data was viewed and by which authorized medic.
