Prerequisites:

All employees hired to work in the ambulances must be certified by New York State at the EMT-B, EMT-I, AEMT-CCT or AEMT-P level.

1) EMT - current New York State Emergency Medical Technican certification

2) CCT - current New York State Critical Care Technician certification; plus
- current ACLS certification
- current CPR certification

3) Paramedic - current New York State Paramedic certification; plus
- current ACLS certification
- current CPR certification

Employee Standards

In addition to NYS certification, Mohawk Ambulance will require additional hands-on and classroom training upon hire:

• Intro to Mohawk
• OSHA training
• Blood-borne and Air-borne Pathogens
• and Hazard Communication program.
• Documentation training
• Review of equipment
  Patient Lifting and Moving
• AED and Epi-pen In-service
• Driver Training
• A comprehensive program covering vehicle handling and ambulance operations
• For Paramedic and Critical Care Technicians:
  • Internship - Preceptor Programs for students
