About Us

History

Mohawk Ambulance Service was founded in 1964 and at the time, had only two vehicles and two employees operating out of an automobile repair garage on State Street in Schenectady. The company was purchased by Dr. J. Peter McPartlon in 1978.

From there, the company steadily grew over the years, adding the Troy location in 1985, followed by an Albany location a year later, with additional facilities to come in later years.

Today, Mohawk Ambulance Service is the largest privately-owned ambulance service in upstate New York. With more than 40 ambulances and emergency response vehicles, Mohawk Ambulance Service provides Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support services to the Capital District region.

The company employs more than 250 New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technicians, Critical Care Technicians and Paramedics ready to provide the highest quality of emergency medical care from facilities in Albany, Brunswick, Schenectady, and Troy. Our 24-hour, seven-days-a-week central dispatch center serves the counties of Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, and Saratoga.
